Everbrite MedLux™ Support Site

Spec & Installation Info Site

Q: Do MedLux devices work with DMX?
Yes, although MedLux devices cannot directly support DMX encoded signals at this time.
A commercial DMX decoder that outputs a 0-10VDC dimming control signal can be used with our
XLIM box for monochrome dimming.
A commercial three channel DMX decoder that has 12VDC PWM
may work with our ECL-42-xx Driver box to provide color control.
We are currently evaluating the stability and effectiveness of this DMX color control configuration.
Q: Are any of the MedLux products Correlated Color Temperature adjustable?
Yes, Cove and Color Changing Troffers create different color temperatures of white by mixing red, green, and blue.
However, our monochrome MedLux GPI products are not dynamically adjustable in their true white color temperature.
Downlights and monochrome Cove can be ordered in a specific color temperatures.
We are currently evaluating various Correlated Color Temperature LEDs for potential future MedLux products.
Q: Will Cove and Color Changing Troffers have RGBW for true white?
Right now, both Cove and Color Changing Troffers create white by using balanced red, green, and blue.
This is useful because different color temperatures of white can be created by adjusting the RGB balance.
However, this technique is often not as bright as true white LEDs.
With RGBW LEDs the white setting would be as bright as our monochrome Cove.
Color temperature control of the white output could be achieved by mixing red and green.
If there is enough interest in this capability, it could be developed for targeted MedLux products.
